A family guesthouse in Sidi Bou Saïd

A guesthouse in Sidi Bou Saïd

One house, three generations

Dar Zitouna was a family home long before it became a guesthouse. White walls, blue doors, jasmine in the inner courtyard — little has changed. We welcome guests the way we welcome family, without hurry.

Experiences

What Dar Zitouna offers beyond the room.

Vaulted interior of the neighbourhood hammam

The Hammam

A scrub and steam at the neighbourhood hammam, by reservation.

Turkish coffee served on a rug, in warm, low light

The Kitchen

Cook alongside the family, then sit down together in the courtyard.

A cobbled lane in Sidi Bou Saïd, a blue arched door and a passer-by

Neighbourhood Walks

An hour through the village lanes, with a guide from the family.

Wide view over white rooftops, a dome and the sea, with bougainvillea and a palm tree

The neighbourhood

Sidi Bou Saïd wakes early and stays up late. Cobbled lanes, bougainvillea over whitewashed walls, Café des Nattes, the sea just below — the house is never far from anything, and never in a rush to get there.
