Our Story

The house, the family, the neighbourhood

A traditional courtyard: blue woodwork, zellige tiles, and marble columns

The house

Built in the late 19th century, the house has kept its original layout: a central courtyard, vaulted upper rooms, a terrace facing the Gulf of Tunis. We restored it without betraying it — the tiled floors, the studded doors, the same blue the windows have always worn.

The family

Three generations have lived here. My grandfather planted the courtyard's first orange tree; my mother opened the house to travellers in 1998. Today, we're the ones welcoming guests — same recipes, same gestures, the same keys that still stick a little.

Wide view over white rooftops, a dome and the sea

The neighbourhood

Sidi Bou Saïd isn't a backdrop — it's a village that keeps living: fishermen come back down to the port early, artisans open their workshops, neighbours stop by for coffee. The house has always been part of it.
